Sleeps two
The Harbour Room
Queen bed, bay window, the better view. Original sash windows that rattle pleasantly in a nor’wester. Ensuite with a claw-foot bath that takes a while to fill and is worth the wait.
$245 per night
Sleeps two
The Garden Room
Two singles or a king, opening straight onto the veranda. Quieter, cooler in summer, and closer to the coffee. Bathroom across the hall, yours alone.
$210 per night
Taking both rooms — the whole cottage — is $410 a night.
Included
- Breakfast
- Cooked, at the kitchen table, until about ten. Eggs from up the road, bread from the Saturday market when we can get it.
- Parking
- Off street, which in Akaroa in January is not nothing.
- Wifi
- Good enough for a video call, if you must.
- The cat
- Optional in theory. His name is Barnaby and he will try the Garden Room first.
Not included
No television in either room, deliberately. There is one in the sitting room if it rains for three days, which it occasionally does.
